happy groundhog day! i am making a post of two wonderful girls...they are 15 and funny, stunning, and more importantly they are the Lord's. I love being with them always but taking photos of them was even crazier...tess and shelbs have been friends since--well i'm not sure when, but definitely since the age where you do the waddle walk from your diapy. i know the most unbelievable teenagers. sometimes, being a minister, i witness some things that i wish i never had to know and it seems destructive and like nothing can redeem it...but the challenges NEVER outweigh the victories. There is nothing more redemptive than watching teenagers pour their hearts out for other people who have less, and watching them ache for each other's broken homes and broken hearts. They are beautiful little creatures...they always get a rap for being so selfish [and i will admit that often that is the quality they most display] but watching them grow is such a blessing and being an extremist myself, i know the victories are oh so sweet and the trials sometimes bring you all the way down...but the depth of it makes it all worth it...Jack Kerouac says it better than I. “The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!”

shelbi!! i love these two. the shirt shelbi is wearing is actually tess' but it came from hong kong vintage if you live in charlotte and you like vintage at all you have to go there! they have some thrifty finds..
